gardens over 27 London boroughs are opening their gates for one weekend only this June, giving you the chance to see many hidden urban oases for the first time. The event is in association with the National Trust, allowing you access to community gardens, schools, urban ecology centres, roof gardens, allotments and of course, National Trust property.

The weekend will take place on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th June in almost every part of London and includes activities such as an observational beehive in Greenwich, exhibitions of art and sculpture in Stoke Newington, Lewisham and Holland Park, knitting in Lewisham, crafts in Lambeth and playing with bugs in Bromley. Wherever you are in the capital, there is likely to be something happening in your neighbourhood.

The weekend will also be hosting events from the Chelsea Fringe, a spin off of the annual flower show with pop up gardens, installations and horticultural happenings. Tickets for the event cost £9 each in advance or £12 on the door. For tickets and a complete list of the participating gardens in your area check out the website. Sometimes it’s nice to do something a little grown up…
