Birmingham Royal Ballet is taking over Sadler’s Wells for a triple bill curated by Carlos Acosta. It opens with one-act abstract ballet City of a Thousand Trades, celebrating the diverse culture and industrial heritage of Birmingham and its links to heavy metal music. Daniela Cardim’s Imminent follows, which is inspired by the feeling that a tipping point is approaching and a window of opportunity is about to arrive. The triple bill ends with a reworking of Goyo Montero’s Chacona, including the world premiere of a new duet for Carlos Acosta and Alessandra Ferri. Three ballets in one evening, this is one dance fans won’t want to miss.
