A DELIVERY-ONLY FINE DINING RESTAURANT HAS LAUNCHED IN SW LONDON

Chef Philip Britten, who received Michelin stars during his time at both Chez Nico and the Capital Hotel in Knightsbridge, is back doing fine dining but this time from a delivery-only ‘dark kitchen’ in Battersea. His concept, Cookout Club, is aiming to elevate takeaway food to restaurant standards whilst still providing value for money – a two-course meal comes in under £20 a head.

The menu includes chicken liver parfait with watercress salad, baked fillet of seabass on puy lentils, glazed Barbary duck with red cabbage & red wine sauce, wild mushroom risotto with wild garlic, chocolate terrine with mango & ginger coulis, and lemon tart with clotted cream.

Britten is using independent courier company Stuart to deliver the meals (in biodegradable packaging), with a radius that currently covers Brixton, Balham, Wandsworth, Kennington, Vauxhall, Lambeth, Battersea, Clapham and parts of Kensington and Chelsea. If you’re not in SW London, don’t fear because two more kitchens are slated to open this year.
