Solis is going standalone. Ana Gonçalves and Zijun Meng, the duo behind cult favourite TĀ TĀ Eatery, first launched Solis at Arcade Food Hall Battersea Power Station back in 2023, before adding a Covent Garden site earlier this year. This October, they’re opening the brand’s biggest chapter yet: a full standalone restaurant on Kingly Street, Soho, and its new flagship home.
The move to a bigger site means a bigger menu. Solis’s signature grilled half chicken with smoked Aji-Aji chilli oil and flat iron steak with steak sauce remain, but they’re now joined by an expanded grill offering built for sharing, including a Chateaubriand served with chimichurri and aji picante, plus a rotating blackboard of specials showcasing exceptional butcher’s cuts. New dishes exclusive to Soho include a baked torta pascoalina (a South American Easter classic of braised Swiss chard, watercress, two cheeses and a soft-boiled egg in crisp filo), a Uruguayan-style prawn cocktail, and elotes finished with Tajin. Bocadillos, South America’s answer to the sandwich, get their own section too, from green mojo chicken salad to sliced steak with fried onions and herby mayo.
Drinks are just as considered, with house sangrias by the glass or jug, a cocktail list including a Hibiscus & Agave and a Floridita Highball, and a low-intervention South American wine list. The space itself leans into full Latin American bodega territory, buttery yellows and electric blue against dark hardwood and stainless steel, with a long bar, cosy booths and privacy curtains for good measure.
