Keep Veganuary going by hitting up mallow in Canary Wharf
Whether you’re a committed vegan or you’ve been trying it and liking it during Veganuary, you can continue eating plant-based at mallow in Canary Wharf. The restaurant, the sister site to mallow in Borough Market, opened last year making it one of the first 100% plant-based joints in the neighbourhood, and it’s open all day, taking you from brekkie right through to dinner and drinks.
Like the OG mallow, the Wood Wharf restaurant serves up a menu that draws inspo from around the world, making use of seasonal veggies and a range of spices to really punch up the flavours. You can expect dishes like:
- kimchi brioche croque monsieur with nori onion rings and gochujang sauce
- pakora okra with cajun toasted coconut and mango pepper sauce
- roast pepper sweet potato laksa with rice noodles and five spice tofu
- jambalaya arancino with creole veloute, hoppin’ john black eye peas, okra and plantain crisp
- porcini walnut date borek with preserved lemon tabbouleh, toasted spiced almonds and confit celeriac cream
- date molasses sticky toffee with caramel, pistachio rose praline and vanilla ice cream
You can pair all of that with fresh juices, vegan wine, beer, and cocktails like pear rosemary margaritas, coconut pandan daiquiris and lychee pitaya martinis – perfect if you’re back on the sauce following Dry January.
