The Flesh & Buns fam is expanding as a third restaurant, the biggest and best one yet, is opening in Kensington early next year. Much like the Covent Garden and Fitzrovia restaurants, which will also be getting a refresh to coincide with the new opening, the Kensington spot will serve up izakaya and Nikkei-inspired food, with the menu including ceviche mixto; chicken yakitori; smoked pork rib with tallow chilli honey glaze; fried squid with Japanese pepper, red chilli & lime; spicy tuna rolls with rocoto chilli & pickled daikon; and prawn tempura rolls with yuzu Amarillo chilli mayo.

The signature bao buns will be present and correct, with fillings like crispy duck leg with plum sauce & beetroot pickle; Japanese fried chicken with rocoto chilli BBQ mayo; chilli miso brisket; salmon teriyaki with cucumber pickle; and portobello mushrooms with wasabi mayo. If you fancy yourself a bit of pud, there’s salted caramel chocolate fondant with matcha ice cream; Nutella tai yaki with cherry soft serve; and kinako donuts with black sugar custard on the menu too. And you’ll be pleased to know that the Press for Pisco buttons will be in action, alongside yuzu margs, umeshu negronis, custom-made sake and Japanese whiskies.
