Tonkotsu is a winner in the world of ramen and now the guys behind it are opening a Japanese brasserie, Anzu in St James’ Market. And it’s definitely a bit of a change with Japanese wood and stone making up the interiors, and a menu of king crab gyzoa, black cod teriyaki and Wagyu fillet steak with butter sauce. But the main event is their daily teishoku set lunch of steamed rice, pickles and miso soup with a choice of miso cured salmon, wagyu, katsu or tempura. Of course the booze options are on the same level as the food and you can expect an extensive wine and cocktail list, alongside Japanese beers and whiskies. What’s more they will be opening with 50% OFF food for three days, but we recommend you book here.
