Cantina Laredo is gone (thank god) and wine bar 28-50 is moving into the Covent Garden site some time next year. Once a three-strong group co-founded by chef Aggi Sverrisson sommelier Xavier Rousset, 28-50 shrunk back down to one site (still running in Marylebone although under different ownership) after Rousset left the business. Now it’s expanding once again thanks to the acquisition of the 280-cover Covent Garden space.

It’s being billed as a more modern and premium version of the wine workshop and kitchen in Marylebone, with a daily changing European food menu and more than 30 wines available by glass, carafe and bottle. That’s all the info we’ve got the moment, so watch this space for more.
