We all know that properly cleansing our skin is important, especially when you live in a city as dirty as London, but sometimes you need a helping hand to really get all the grime out…that’s where HydraFacial comes in. Offered at the flagship Notting Hill Gate branch of the Premier Laser & Skin Clinics, the HydraFacial combines six techniques, all delivered with one machine and in one treatment.

It starts with skin steaming to really open up the pores and then the therapist gets to work with the machine, which uses 4-in-1 Vortex Technology and specially designed spiral brush heads to suck out any nasties. You go through exfoliation, a light peel of salicylic and glycolic acid, and extraction using vacuum suction before a hydrating serum of hyaluronic acid and peptides is spread over the skin and left to sink in. The facial finishes with LED light therapy to soothe the skin and reduce any redness.

The HydraFacial is a more intensive treatment than a regular facial – it’s not uncomfortable but we can’t say it’s relaxing either as the exfoliation is a bit scratchy and the peel tingles. When you see what’s come out of your skin at the end though you’ll totally appreciate it and it actually makes a real difference; our skin was less congested and felt super smooth afterwards, and we’ll happily take a little irritation for that.
