old st records open coffee shop

Old St Records are spreading their wings and opening up a cafe next door. What once was a greasy spoon has now been transformed into a modern day cafe hangout with specially curated vinyl, caffeine fixes from Assembly Coffee and a menu centred around Manhattan’s sandwich culture. The NYC inspired deli menu will feature Grilled Cheeses, Reubens and Falafel alongside pressed juices and sweet treats in the form of pastries and cakes. And their opening week is kicking off in style too, with the cafe hosting a week of FREE events that will include Gilles Peterson taking to the decks on the 13th November for one of his most intimate sets to date, AND Norman Jay MBE spinning the tunes on Friday, alongside DJ sets from some of the labels on their vinyl menu.

And if that wasn’t enough of a celebration they are also giving away 100 free coffees a day (from 8am) during their opening week – and you know it’s gonna be good with one of the world’s top baristas, James Wise, behind the coffee machine. So get down there early to bag your cuppa joe.
