That’s right, Smoking Goat is having a KID and opening their second site in Shoreditch. Taking over the White Horse (the former strip club on Shoreditch High Street), Smoking Goat 2.0 is expected to be a bar first and restaurant second. And that means the menu will largely focus on ‘Aharn Glam Lao’ (Drinking Food), with dishes including Steamed Oysters with burnt chilli & fermented shrimp; Herbal blood sausage; Stir fried greens with salt fish; and spicy offal laabsbut. When it comes to the larger dishes expect Soya braised chickens from Bangkok’s Chinatown; a Northern Thai turmeric variant on Massaman Smoked Goat; Smoked point end brisket; and Garlic chive hand made egg noodles. Drinks wise there will be beer, a simple wine menu and cocktails made from the same fruits and herbs that will be used in the food. Sounds like a winner to us.
