We loved Santo Remedio when it opened in Shoreditch last year, but unfortunately, it was not round for long and closed suddenly last autumn. So we couldn’t be more excited to hear that Santo Remedio Cantina & Comedor has a brand new home in London Bridge on the former Magdalen site on Tooley Street. The ground floor Cantina will house a traditional Mexican bar with a focus on tequila and mezcal cocktails and a small menu of tacos and snacks, including THAT grasshopper guac, while the Comedor upstairs will resemble a traditional Mexican dining room (that takes reservations!!). As well as serving up their legendary tacos, you can also expect a menu of sharing dishes including fish al pastor, gorditas de chicharron prensando, chilles rellenos; prawn aguachile rojo; short rib with mole negro and plantain puree; and pork chop with mole rosa. And even if you have no idea what half of that is, you know it’s gonna be good!
The ground floor Cantina is now open with bookings at lunch time and walk–ins in the evening and the Comedor will open in early October.
