loti eats: l’antica pizzeria da michele

Unless you’ve been on a digital detox for the last couple of months there’s a big chance you’ll have seen the news about L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele AKA the world’s best pizza coming to Stoke Newington. In fact we first heard about its opening way back in April last year. Well it’s now open and of course we jumped right on that bandwagon and headed down.

Some might say the site is doomed; we’ve seen it be many, many things over the years but judging by the queue at 11:45am Sunday waiting for it to open, L’Antica might just break the mould and stay around for a long time. The good news is they have now implemented a text system so once you’ve put down you’re name there’s no need to wait outside.

And now to the pizza. There’s just two types: the Margarita topped with mozzarella and tomato and the Marinara with tomato, basil, garlic and no cheese. The base is incredible; it’s certainly some of the best pizza dough we’ve had and whilst the sauce is delish we can’t help but want more toppings. Yes we are not ashamed to say that we like our pizzas topped with meat and two veg. That said, it’s cheap at just £6.90 for the Marinara and a pound more for the Margarita, so defo worth ticking off the list.
