We all know that food waste is a massive problem – in the UK we a bin a ridiculous £17 billion worth of food each year – whilst millions of people go hungry. Pop Brixton and local volunteers have decided to do something about it by creating the city’s first community fridge. Bought via a crowdfunding campaign, the fridge will be maintained and kept clean by the Pop Brixton peeps but anyone can donate or take from it, so food can go to where it belongs rather than in the bin.
