THEY New York stepped onto the scene earlier this year when three Manhattan-based friends decided to create a shoe that balances minimalist design with functionality to create a unique aesthetic. Different to all the other trainers on the market THEY New York takes inspiration from the German Bauhaus movement and combines this with elements of minimalist Japanese architecture to create a simple shoe with a geometric twist.
But the most exciting part of THEY New York is the construction of their shoes, as they manage to seamlessly embed the geometric shapes into the shoes silhouette. To do this they must hand align the shoes upper half with it’s bi-colour rubber sole, which require the eyes of expert craftsmen. It might be more like a work of art than a shoe, but it’s just as practical as the rest and looks damn sexy.
