THE SONG THAT: THE LOVELY EGGS

thelovelyeggs2

Hailing from Lancaster, The Lovely Eggs have made a name for themselves as one hell of a DIY garage pop band. We managed to catch a spare moment with them to ask them The Song That…

Got me into music…

As soon as I heard that song and that guitar sound it changed my whole life. In a round about way it got me into D.I.Y punk rock and made me realise that anything is possible!

Reminds me of my favourite festival…

We remember going to the Les Eurorockeennes festival in France. I was living in Paris at the time and it took us hours and hours to drive down to get there. But when we arrived we were just so excited about seeing Sonic Youth and this is the song they opened with. We were fucking joyeous! We had bought these orange juice cartons of red wine and they were all spilling down our faces but we didn’t give a fuck, we were in France, it was sunny and Sonic Youth were playing Teenage Riot!

I love this year so far…

We first met Huw when we played in Berlin together a few years ago and he actually appears in the very final shot of our video for the song Magic Onion. This is a great new track, written and recorded when he was living in L.A.

I want played at my funeral…

I dunno it happens to us all dunnit. Death is pretty inevitable and this song sums it pretty well.

I would play in a set to impress…

Done it before. Will do it again.

Always gets me up and dancing…

But only if I’ve had a least 3 Strongbows

Sums me up…

This sums up mine and David’s lives really. We basically live in the Twin Peaks of Great Britain. Day to day life is very normal and also VERY weird. This song pretty much sums up the magic in the mundane that is our world.
