lets eat grandmaLET’S EAT GANDMA | I, GEMINI
BEN SAYS: “Two 17 year olds from Norwich that have such a strong identity and sound that is free flowing, experimental and other worldly weird. But it’s all for shits and giggles, well that’s what duo Rosa Walton and Jenny Hollingworth say. They look like seriously creepy twins, but they are having a bash at just making random music and this album shows how eclectic and wild their imagination is, and that can be no bad thing.
RATING: 3/5
Shock MachineSHOCK MACHINE | SOMETHING MORE
CHRISTINA SAYS: “Former Klaxons frontman James Righton is back in our lives with a new musical project Shock Machine and he’s already been hitting the festival circuit with a slot at Field Day. He’s gone all out with the vid for single ‘Something More’ too, enlisting Simon Amstell to direct it. Supermarkets and sad clowns…what more can you ask for?”
RATING: 3/5
Seramic LOTISERAMIC | FOUND EP
SARAH SAYS: “After only appearing on the scene in January, very little know is about Seramic, it’s all a bit mysterious and so is this EP. Clearly for Seramic music speaks louder than words and his personailty shines through in the 4 very diverse tracks. From electro-soul track ‘People Say’ to funk-pop single ‘Waiting’, this EP really demonstrantes his versatility, but at the end of the day his soulful roots and powerful vocals bring the EP together.”
RATING: 4/5
FOUR TET LOTIFOUR TET | RANDOMS
CHRISTINA SAYS: “Following a cracking performance at Field Day, Four Tet surprised us with a sort of new album. Called Randoms, it’s made up of…yeah you guessed it…random tracks from throughout his career, with many tracks coming from other compilations, as well as the first ever Four Tet track ‘Field’. So it might not be brand new, but that doesn’t stop it from being an interesting listen. Plus it’s a “name your price” situation, so you can’t really say fairer than that.”
RATING: 3/5
