Yolk has taken over the kitchen at the Duke of Wellington until September with an all-day comfort food menu. The dishes are meat heavy so if you’re looking for a light bite or you’re into clean eating, we can tell you now this is not the place for you. But if you like huge crispy chorizo scotch eggs with runny centres, uber meaty pig cheek goujons and crammed confit duck buns then you’ll get on just fine.

Our favourite dishes had to be the creamy mac’n’cheese and the guacamole nachos teamed with a couple of cans of our new obsession, Bloody ‘ell, blood orange Beavertown IPA. For dessert – and if you managed dessert you’re better than us – there’s some interesting ice-creams on offer; say HELLO to French Toast, and a decent brunch menu too. Looking for somewhere to indulge or got a hangover that needs fixing, then Yolk is no joke.
