Got me into music…

“Gimme Gimme Gimme” – Abba. I was a massive ABBA Fan as a kid thanks to my mum buying me an ABBA compilation CD for my 6th birthday or something like that. I think the energie and groove got me hooked.

Reminds me of my favorite festival

“Head On/Pill” by King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard. Glastonbury -15. They played a late night set up at The Crows Nest. Its a special place, tiny and overlooking the whole festival site up on a hill so you kinda have to climb up there which can be an exciting experience if its been raining and you’re, lets face it, not sober. I can’t remember which night but it was absolutely packed and quite late and in the middle of the set the power wert out for like 20 mins but people just kept going. They were still serving cake and stuff at the bar and I was freezing my tits off because I didn’t bring enough clothes and got soaked in the rain so a kind soul offered me a cup of tea thinking it would help me warm up. Glastonbury is just as special as everyone says it is.

I love this year so far…

“Drive Like I’ve Never Been Hurt” by Ry Cooder. I’ve mainly rediscovered old stuff this year. This song has been on repeat a lot.

I want played at my funeral…

Probably “The Lingering Procession” by Erik Enocksson. He’s one of my favourite Swedish composers and this piece is just beautiful.

I would play in a set to impress…

“Art of Almost” by Wilco. If I could I would. This song is mind blowing both recorded and live. Seeing them perform this one live made me wanna give up music and pursue it at the same time.

Always gets me up and dancing…

“Mind Control” by Friends. Amazing song, amazing bass line. I saw them live in Gothenburg at Stay out West years ago. They played a late night set at a small club and I forced all my drunk friends to come with me and it was one of those special shows you only experience at 2 in the morning.

Sums me up…

“Dream My Days Away” by Broder Daniel sums me up pretty well. A lot of Swedish music in this list but this is also one of my all time favourites, lyrically and musically this band were nailing simplicity and always so straight to the point. Oh and the acoustic version of this song is actually great funeral material too, its amazing.
