happens when you bring together Damien Hirst and Mark Hix? They only go and decide to open a bloody restaurant in Hirst’s Newport Street Gallery and we couldn’t be anymore more excited. With equal measures of art and food, the pair will open Pharmacy 2 at the end of February. Inspired by classic British and European food, the restaurant will be covering it all, from breakfast through to dinner. And with Hix behind the menu, expect to find dishes including brick a l’ouef de carnard with harissa, crispy squid with green chilli, garlic and almonds and poached rhubarb with saffron ice cream, all served up alongside a good selection of vino and cocktails.

Of course the food will not be the only thing to take centre stage at Pharmacy 2, with Hirst’s own science inspired work making up the interior. And featuring some of his most iconic art, including the medicine cabinets and butterfly kaleidoscope paintings, it’d be worth a visit whether you’ve got a prescription or not. But get booking as we reckon they’ll be queuing round the block for a table at Pharmacy 2.
