details seem to appear season after season and it remains a major trend for AW 16/17, updated with more luxurious and inventive fabrics. Outerwear, the staple piece of the look, was out in force, with parkas at Coach, utility coats at Maharishi and flak jackets at Agi & Sam. Things took a more directional turn at Craig Green and 1205; by playing with textures and taking on sharper silhouettes, the designers twisted the military influences into something totally contemporary. And Astrid Andersen really blurred the lines between army gear and sportswear with her take on sweats and sneakers.

HOW TO GET THE LOOK…
Obviously army green is the way to go with this trend but if you don’t want to go top-to-toe in the same shade, earthy browns and desert hues slot in seamlessly, as does a bit of camo print. Utilitarian details, like extra pockets on shirts or pants, are an easy way to add military vibes to your wardrobe, and, of course, anything from the surplus store wouldn’t look out of place.
