a whole debate these days about whether or not Air BnB is better than a hotel and vice versa but what if you can combine the best bits from the two? The privacy of having your own amazing PAD with the top notch service and staff of a 5-star hotel? Well that’s exactly what Scott Dunn villa holidays offer…We recently spent a week sunning ourselves in Las Palmeras, a huge 4-bed villa in Pollenca, Mallorca that comes with private chef, host and nanny.

The villa is hidden down a private road and features an outdoor pool with daybeds, landscape gardens, views of the Tramuntana Mountains, plenty of terraces for catching some rays as well as an outside area for dining and relaxing with drink in hand. In fact the whole holiday is focused on you relaxing – as should be the case – as staff take care of your every need, from cooking and cleaning to booking day trips, restaurants and any other excursions you might want to take part in.

Meanwhile in the kitchen, most of the food cooked is local produce bought by the chef from local markets and butchers Breakfast usually involved a selection of freshly baked goods including Ensaïmada, local pastries made with pork fat, scrambled eggs and chorizo or salmon, fresh fruits, yoghurts and cereals.

Lunch included fresh salads, fish, vegetables all cooked the Mediterranean way with herbs and olive oil. Dinner kicked off each evening with a selection of beautiful canapés, mixed up every night – although we would have happily had the grape and breadcrumb gazpacho every time – and drinks. Then came a four course feast; highlights for us were the homemade focaccia, crunchy belly pork, and “snickers” bar followed always by a local cheese selection.

This year Scott Dunn have teamed up with MasterChef 2014 winner Ping Coombe who has created a quirky Asian menu featuring curry popcorn, Asian tuna tartar and Malaysian mess. We sampled this one evening and it didn’t disappoint, fresh flavours combined with a lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves G&T.

Scott Dunn Villa Dinner

We’re not gonna lie, on our trip we found it hard to leave the villa but we did spend one afternoon pottering around Pollenca, climbing the steps and stocking up on Sobrasada, Manchego and Pork and truffle pate to take home. So cheap and so tasty…We also spent a morning on a boat, fizz and posh picnic packed by our chefs included.

Sound like heaven? It was. And it’s actually not as expensive as you might think….Scott Dunn offers 7 nights at Las Palmeras in Pollenca, Mallorca from £1,525 per person based on full occupancy of 8 guests and including a private chef, host and nanny. This also includes full board on 5 and a half days, unlimited soft drinks and beer, a wine hamper, private transfers or car hire and flights with British Airways from the UK.
