9th – 11th July, York Hall in Bethnal Green will be transformed into a retro-style Mexican Arena for… (say this part loud in your most Mexican of accents and with a touch of mystery): ‘The Greatest Spectacle of Lucha Libre’. The Mexican style of wrestling – where fighters enter the ring in outlandish capes and suits, wear mythical and colourful masks, perform acrobatic moves and fly from spectacular heights to entertain the crowds – is heading East for an electrifying three-day extravaganza.

Headlining the spectacles will be Mexico’s greatest luchador, the silver masked El Hijo del Santo, who will be joined by some of Mexico’s top fighters and even the UK’s very own Lucha Britannia. There’ll also be Mexican films, Friday night cabaret, carnival dancers, ring girls and authentic Mexican street-food and craft beers to keep you happy. If that wasn’t enough to tempt you, there is of course TEQUILA…thought that would win you over.
