11TH MAY 2015, SUB-POP RECORDS

Is it us, or has the dance pop bubble machine slowed down a bit? A little less predictable big bassline and vocals? Well, festivals, Ibiza, et al all will probably ramp it up again, but in the interim. It’s time to go a bit alternative, a bit Sub Pop if you will.

Doldrums new single ‘Loops’ is all about the challenging contrasts; summery percussion, a midnight dark pop electro edge, layered vocals and  pitch-bending whilst challenging beats all adding up to some edgy fun is catchy, strange and brilliant enough to be doing circuits of your audio processors for months to come. It precedes the new album ‘Air Conditioned Nightmare’ which is taken from a collection of Henry Miller essays, and is slaying our office speakers.
