gem in the heart of Hackney Wick…does that sound right? It does when the aforementioned place is the Hackney Pearl, a cosy cafe and bar that offers a decent seasonal menu, great cocktails, beers and coffee and brings a little inspiration from Melbourne to the arty east end.

The man in charge, James Morgan has taken some of the great things from his hometown of Melbourne and combined them with his love of English Pub to create The Hackney Pearl. Which is why you can pop in for a coffee and just be content among the vintage formica tables, books on art and take in life…or work your way through the food and cocktail menu. The Grilled Onglet Steak (rare) served with Chips is a pretty epic choice, the cocktails too, enough on their to keep you more than interested.

Be it a date night or simply out for homely cooked food you will find the Hackney Pearl an absolute delight.
