Blues Kitchen Shoreditch opened back in June, taking over the huge space which was once Bar Music Hall on Curtain Road. Part restaurant/bar/music venue/club, they’ve done a great job with the room, with a huge island bar in the middle, a stage on one side and diner-style booths on the other.

The menu at Blues Kitchen is all about big plates of BBQ and dishes from the Deep South – ALL GOOD with us. To get a full idea of what was on offer we just had to sample the Deluxe BBQ Blow Out platter: pit smoked BBQ chicken; Texan pulled pork; 16 hour slow smoked beef short rib; and burnt ends, served with fries and ‘slaw. If you like lots of tender, smokey meat this is the one.

There’s also a monthly burger spesh and this month’s is the best yet. Meet The Baltimore Betty; Crispy fried buttermilk chicken breasts sandwiched between two fresh waffles, topped with melted cheese, bacon & spicy tomato relish. An absolute WINNER!

With live music, club nights and great BBQ, The Blues Kitchen is a fun night out. They’ve even just launched their own Gospel Choir which performs every Sunday and are also offering up unlimited hog roast to go with it – makes a change from the same old pub roast!
