week’s Londoner is Hannah Cheston, Events Manager at The Hoxton, Shoreditch. If anyone knows how to do a co-lab it’s this girl, check out her top tips below…

Where do you live in London and why?

I was born and bred in Sheperds Bush but now live in Queens Park, which I originally chose because it’s a happy medium between North and West and I have friends and family in both places. It’s also near to Kensal Rise and Notting Hill which is perfect for restaurants and bars. You’ll usually find me in a bar…

The Hoxton do some amazing events, what’s the best event you’ve worked on?

I love all of my events, whether they are small and intimate or one big party! The Cocktail Lovers magazine launch was a particularly ACE event, laced with cocktails how could it not be? We also ran some secret gigs in co-lab with you guys (I had to mention that right!) which were pretty hard to organise as we’re not set up for music gigs but once we pulled it off they were banging.

What about outside of The Hox, which other companies do great events?

I’m a big fan of pop-up cinema events, The Nomad in particular nail it and I also love Street Feast, I worked with Dom in the beginning driving a van (don’t ask!) and it’s amazing how far he has come. Huge credit to him.

Sounds like an ace job! What advice would you give someone wanting to get into an events role?

Don’t be afraid of hard work, at the beginning there’s a lot of late nights, early starts and be prepared to lift a table or two or even drive a crazy van! Be an amazing networker too, there’s so much to be said for meeting and chatting to people, I try and meet everyone for a coffee and even if I can’t work with the right away, something usually comes from it. And enjoy it! Love what you do…

Finally what would your perfect day in London be…

I’d have a long lie in with my future hubby then get to Frame Camp to move my ass. After burning those cals I’d go for a late brunch at NOPI followed by a shopping spree in Selfridges then meet the girls at Boopshi’s for a Spritz or ten followed by dinner at Chiltern Firehouse trying to eagle eye a celeb.

Well we hope we get an invite! If you fancy checking out Hannah’s event, sign up to The Hoxton Fanclub.
