Our regular readers may remember earlier this year when we broke the news about The Ampersand Hotel opening. Well the hotel has now opened its doors in South Kensington and we can confirm it looks just as good in the flesh as it does in the pictures!
The hotel houses 111 rooms in a beautifully converted building which dates back to 1888. Each of the rooms has been individually designed, with decor inspired by the local London neighbourhood, from the music of the Royal Albert Hall to the Chelsea Physic Garden’s flowers. The rooms range from standard doubles to suites with private balconies.
There are also plenty of reasons to visit outside of the rooms – the hotel’s restaurant Apero serves up Mediterranean style dishes and killer cocktails (trust us they are killer!) in a trendy cellar style environment. Whilst afternoon tea will be served in The Drawing Rooms and for more intimate dinners there is The Wine Room with its own vast wine cellar. There’s a gym too incase you want to work off all of that food.
