Every July 4th, Americans mark Independence Day with celebrations right across the country. One of the most famous celebrations is at Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs in Coney Island which attracts hundreds of people to compete in their hot dog eating contest and this year, lucky Londoners will be able to do just the same!

Camden Town watering hole The Blues Kitchen is hosting an Independence Day hot dog devouring race this year and is open to anyone who thinks they have what it takes.

And if that doesn’t float your boat then try your luck in the singing contest- the winner gets a free meal. Just be sure to think of something a little more classy than Christina or Britney…..

The contest starts at 8pm and will be followed by a live rhythm and blues band. Americans who show a valid passport also get a free drink.
