Japanese pod hotels are like marmite you either love them or you hate them or you’ve never tried them. Unfortunately we fall into the latter but we really do want to try them so we were delighted when we found this news in Caterer…..
“A new group inspired by Japanese pod-style hotels is set to launch its first property in Birmingham this spring.
Bloc Hotels will open a 73-bedroom hotel in the Jewellery Quarter of the city and plans to develop a further 10 properties over the next three to five years.”
Sounds good to us as does the 32” TVs, WiFi and the perfect sleeping environment. That’s right some folks at a Scandinavian sleep research centre have found out what makes the perfect sleeping environment and incase you’re wondering it’s 18-20°C and a humidity of 30-40%.
Although Birmingham is the first location, London and Manchester are both on the hit list and with prices starting at £60 per night they’ll give Tune a run for its money.
