It’s National Fish & Chip Day on 4th June – as if you didn’t already have that date circled on your calendar – so naturally it’ll be fish & chips for lunch and dinner. One of our fave chippies Poppies is celebrating the momentous day by offering portions of fish & chips for the bargain price of 10p – that’s how much cod & chips cost when Pat ‘Pop’ Newland first opened his business back in 1950.
If you want to bag a portion of cod & chips for mere pocket change (you can’t even get a Freddo for that anymore, let alone a whole meal), all you have to do is be one of the first 100 people through the door on National Fish & Chip Day at any one of the three Poppies sites.
