Alwaysthought your kisses could light a thousand bulbs? Well, now you’ve got the chance to test the theory! Combining physics with festive cheer, the folks over at Borough Market are celebrating 1,000 years of trading by attempting a brand new world record – while turning on their famous christmas lights in the process. With a little help from top experts at University of London, they’ve calculated an average kiss on the cheek burns two calories per minute – which roughly coverts to around 150 watts – so are enlisting the help of 1,000 willing participants to join them under 1,000 sprigs of mistletoe to really feel the power of love.
Fancy puckering up? Head down to the New Market Hall at 12.30pm on Tuesday 16th December dressed in your festive best, where you’ll receive a free mince pie for taking part (and a cheeky peck!), as the Choir of Royal Holloway sets the mood with their medley of carols. Absolutely everyone’s allowed to take part, so don’t forget to bring your hubby/mum/kids along for the fun.
