10 PHOTOS OF A DESERTED LONDON DURING LOCKDOWN

As Kitty O’Meara said, “And the people stayed home. And read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were still.” The coronavirus outbreak has forced us all inside and as we self-isolate, the streets of London have gone quiet with barely a soul to be seen. Below are some very surreal scenes of a deserted London Town, caught by passers-by (out on their one bit of daily exercise). Got a photo you’d like included? National Theatre. Sir Denys Lasdun, 1978. Deserted during the Covid-19 emergency. Closed down by order of the government. I was there only a couple of weeks ago, watching a great play. Seems like years ago now. Theatres will obviously suffer while closed, although I imagine the National will be in a better position than many to weather the storm. If you are involved there or elsewhere in theatre, let us know what you think will happen. Another quiet Monday morning in Covent Garden…came across a neighbour walking his dog in the early hours whilst on my daily jog (we observed social distancing advice, of course). ⠀ ⠀ ICYMI – I wrote a short article about working from home for those not used to working from home. Facing another few weeks, possibly months, of this, I thought I’d share some of my top tips from my experience. ⠀ ⠀ Click the link in the bio to read 👆🏻👆🏻⠀ ⠀ #mondaymotivation #quarantine #quaratinelife #workfromhome #workingfromhome #wfh #workfromhometips #workingfromhometips #tips #advice #mondaymorning #london #londonlockdown #lovelondon #coventgarden #coventgardenmarket #coventgardenlondon

I headed to Central London today, because I still can, and walked around with a heavy heart. I’m pretty sure, based on our collectively shoddy social distancing behavior in parks etc over the weekend, that we are going to be under much tighter restrictions very soon. My spirits lifted right up though when I noticed that @crosstowndoughnuts was open for takeaway so I treated myself to a Cinnamon Scroll. 🍩🍩🍩. 3/23/2020. #timeoutlondon #thelondonlifeinc #london #london🇬🇧 #piccadillycircus #london4all #thisislondon #tlpicks #toplondonphoto #londondecanted #londonphotographer #londonphotography #voyaged #visitlondon#london_enthusiast #thelondonlife #shutup_london #londonguru #bestlondonphotos #lenbible #hellofrom #mylpguide #bbctraveler
