If you like oysters get down to the Hix Oyster Celebration at Hix Oyster and Chop House this Saturday 15th, where you can grab British rock and native oysters for £1 from 12 – 5pm. For the second year, Mark Hix is hosting the celebration of the new oyster season with fellow oyster lovers Robin Hancock (Wright Brothers) Pete Miles (Dorset Oysters) Nigel Bloxham (Crab House Cafe and Billy Winters) Tom Haward (Richard Haward’s West Mersea Oysters) and Tom Fraser of Scotts restaurant who will be serving their oysters, natural and dressed, whilst chatting to guests throughout the day.
There’ll also be cones of HIX fish ‘n’ chips, cockle popcorn and tubs of British seafood plus rinks such as HIX Oyster Ale, Salcombe Gin and Black Cow vodka. Tickets are £5 but can be exhanged when you arrive for a drink.
