THE OLD VIC TO STREAM A SOCIALLY DISTANCED VERSION OF LUNGS

The Old Vic is already launching a streaming programme of past productions but it’s also bringing back live performances from the stage, making it the first London theatre to do so. In June Claire Foy and Matt Smith will be performing a socially distanced revival of Duncan Macmillan’s Lungs, which the pair originally starred in back in October.

The play will be performed in the theatre, with no audience, and live-streamed online with 1000 tickets available per night to mirror the theatre’s normal capacity. The tickets will cost between £10 – £65, the same price range as the physical seats. Though every virtual ‘seat’ will have the same view, the Old Vic is asking people to give what they can to help support the theatre during the lockdown.
