may remember way back when we broke the news of the new Cat and Mutton ownership. Well the time has come and the pub is finally open for guests. Downstairs has remained a pub style venue, whilst upstairs Pearls, run by Dalston BIG dog Tom Gibson (the brains behind Ruby’s), is knocking out some pretty spesh cocktails and even further upstairs Lucky Chip is in the kitchen slaving over the stoves.

The cocktails are all winners but we did love the Pearly Queen, rum, lychee, coconut, lime and lemongrass, a take on the Pina Colada we were instantly transported to our Benidorm days. Bloody Ruby also puts in an appearance, our favourite from the list over at Ruby’s.

Food wise it’s all about the sharing plates (and the Sunday Roasts of course!). We’d recommend kicking off with the burnt broccoli, yogurt, pickled mustard seeds and almonds. The super soft onglet steak, rich smoked haddock with charred leeks and aioli, juicy roasted tomatoes, stacciatella and oregano and skin on chips with more aioli such also be on your list. Oh and the Rhubarb crumble.

We have a feeling The Cat and Mutton will be the place to be this summer, get in there pronto people…
