PIZZA PILGRIMS TO OPEN IMMERSIVE RESTAURANT IN VICTORIA

Pizza Pilgrims was born after founders James and Thom went on a six-week pilgrimage around Italy to learn the art of pizza making. Now they’re taking us on the same journey with their twelfth restaurant, opening in Victoria in January. The site will be split into four areas, each representing a different region of Italy. The bar will be a nod to Amalfi and the area’s famous lemons, which inspired the pair to create their limoncello brand Pococello. The cocktail list will include limoncello spritzes and the Pepergroni – that’s a negroni made with bourbon and topped with caramelised pepperoni.

The restaurant, with a traditional cobbled piazza, will be Naples with a Parmesan corridor filled with wheels of cheese representing Bologna. At the end of the Emilia-Romagna stairway and cheese corridor is Tuscany aka a private dining room decked out like a Tuscan cellar, complete with a wall of wine. Sounds like Pizza Pilgrims are upping their game and taking a leaf(or should we say slice) out of Big Mamma’s book when it comes to restaurant design.

Want a pizz’a the action right now? These are the best places for a slice.
