LUKE SELBY TO TAKE OVER EVELYN’S TABLE

We’re already fans of Evelyn’s Table, the tiny chef’s counter spot in the basement of The Blue Posts in Soho, but it’s about to get even better as Luke Selby (former head chef at Hide and also a finalist on Great British Menu in 2019) is taking over the restaurant. And he’s keeping it in the fam with his brothers Nat and Theo joining him in the kitchen.

There’ll only be two sittings a night at the ten-seat counter at 6pm and 8pm (so you can get out before the curfew) and with just the three Selbys running the show, it’ll be a proper personal experience. The five-course menu, which changes monthly, will showcase British produce cooked with Luke’s blend of Japanese and French techniques, with dishes like squid noodles with mushroom dashi, venison with chestnut & sansho, and tarte tartin with clotted cream & miso.

Sommelier Honey Spencer (ex-Noma Mexico and Sager +Wilde) has curated the list for Evelyn’s Table as well as running wine bar The Mulwray on the first floor, so you can turn up early and go for a pre-dinner bev before sitting down at the counter.
