loti eats: the kitty hawk

The Kitty Hawk is a bit of a ‘tour de force’…we heard someone say this and are now introducing it into our daily vocabulary. Spanning a whole lot of South Place, it calls itself a ‘Department Store of Dining’; that’s a bar and kitchen area for all day drinking and eating, a grill restaurant, cocktail bar, private dining room AND a coffee bar and patisserie-come-wine bar. You could spend all day here and still not make it to every department, we managed to hop from the cafe to the bar and down a very sexy staircase to the dining room.

The menu is based around steak and seafood and there’s a decent spread on offer, from the Barnsley chop, chargrilled aubergine and pomegranate jam to the salt-baked sea bream, opened up at the table and served with charred lemons and romesco sauce. But the beef is where The Kitty Hawk really raises the steaks with three sharing options including a 32oz Tomahawk served with a selection of homemade sauces, smoked tomatoes, roasted garlic, balsamic glazed red onions and beef dripping chips. Finish it and it might just finish you off…
