harlequin opens in fulham

We are massive fans of Nest, the tiny Hackney restaurant that has an incredibly good value set menu, so we were very interested to hear about Harlequin. James Erasmus (formerly of The Ledbury and The Harwood Arms) and Toby Neill (one of the founders of Nest) have teamed up to open their own place, Harlequin in Fulham.

James is serving up a monthly-changing set menu inspired by both the seasons here and his South African heritage, and there’s also a real focus on quality produce with everything being made from scratch in-house. The menu for this month features Harlequin focaccia with biltong carpaccio, roast mallard duck with spiced pumpkin and date, and Seville orange malva pudding with custard ice cream, with five courses coming in at £40.

With just 26 seats, plus some outside seating for the summer, Harlequin really is a tiny spot but that means you’ll get to interact with the team more, especially as the chefs will be serving most of the dishes.
