A new wave cocktail bar has come to east London
The team behind Caribbean restaurant group Cottons has opened a new cocktail bar in Old Street, taking over the spot where the Frog by AH coffee shop used to be. Nico Berardi, Head of Bars at Cottons, has teamed up with Michael Hilton (who’s spent time at the likes of Callooh Callay and Murder Inc) to bring Sip N Tell to life.
The menu showcases homegrown brands and local spirits, like Hoxton Gin, as well as a range of English sparkling wines, with the bar team putting tropical twists on classic cocktails. The Sip N Tell serves include the likes of:
- The Floor is Guava, made with pink guava, umeshu, makrut lime leaf, lemongrass, cinchona bark, and guava & ginger fruit leather
- Instagram Famous, made with mezcal, young Jamaican rum, pineapple cordial, Aperol, Strega, and grilled pineapple candy
- The Exotic Colada, made with fat-washed and clarified rum, coconut cream and white chocolate
As well as shaking up cocktails, Sip N Tell is also serving up Caribbean-inspired bar snacks, including salt cod fritters with jerk mayo and chilli jam, crayfish mac & cheese bites with burnt pepper tomato coulis, and wagyu beef sliders with sweet potato fries.
