Soho Farmhouse in Oxfordshire is the latest opening from Soho House & Co, only this time it’s not a city hotel, nor a country house retreat; this time it’s an actual resort on a farm. The place is made up of around 40 wood cabins and there’s all kind of things to keep you entertained – think Centre Parks for adults.
We stayed in one of the cabins which came with an outdoor copper bath on the terrace, hidden behind a curtain. There’s no denying, the cabins are PLUSH. The bed is huge (emperor size), there’s a bathroom with every Cow Shed product under the sun and all types of mini-products you might have forgotten. There’s even a small kitchen and if you do arrive peckish, fear not, there’s a block of cheese and fresh loaf of bread so that you can make a cheese toasty plus fresh milk delivered to your door daily by a milk float too, just like the good old days!
Bikes and wellington boots are supplied, so it’s easy to get around and if you’re feeling lazy just flag down one of the electric cars and hop in. As soon as we arrived we hit up the cocktail van, a converted milk float that contains a bar and bartender who will drive to your cabin and shake you up a cocktail or two. There’s also a breakfast float featuring all the classic greasy spoon fry ups and even avocado – this is Soho House & Co. after all.
[URIS id=59838]Outside of the cabins there’s a swish cinema based on The Electric in Notting Hill, barn restaurant, a country pub, pop-up restaurants (if you’re there on a weekend), spa, boating lake which converts to ice-rink, swimming pool, gym and crazy golf course hidden in the woods. It really is an adult’s playground and with new things being added all of the time it’s only going to get better.
The cabins don’t come cheap but if you’re looking for a fun countryside break Soho House-style, the farmhouse has got everything you need and more.
