Behind This Wall has set up shop in a basement located at the end of Mare Street. Serving up seasonal cocktails, wines and beers along with oysters, Hawaiian poke bowls and Spanish tapas, we went to try out their summer menu which has just gone into full swing. We got on extremely well with the cucumber and pickle juice Margarita with a black lava salt rim – almost a little too well but hey we love a good rimming – the white mezcal Negroni and saffron infused Ramos Gin Fizz sexy remixed classics.
If cocktails aren’t your thing, there’s plenty of beers from the likes of Bottle Shop, Five Points, Beavertown and the Redchurch Brewery. AND if all that boozing brings on sugar guilt, fear not those Hawaiian poke bowls full of fresh fish, zesty sauce and rice might be punchy in flavour but are like, totally healthy. It’s ALL about the balance people. With a clean design running throughout the space BTW looks pretty sophisticated for Mare Street. Best get Behind This Wall then…
