BAO LAUNCHES RICE ERROR DELIVERY SERVICE

Like many restaurants at the start of lockdown, Bao announced its plans to pivot into a takeaway/delivery operation and now it’s finally here. Called Rice Error, it’s actually a totally new brand, and as you may have guessed from the name, the focus is rice – chi shang rice from Taiwan to be precise. The rice boxes, made from bamboo and therefore biodegradable, come with toppings including cha shao pork belly, mapo omelette, roasted yellow chilli chicken leg, prawn shia song and 40-day aged black pepper beef.

You can also get Taiwanese fried chicken, sides like sweet potato fries and XO corn, puds like pineapple cake and Horlicks ice cream tubs, and lager, sake and reisling. And if you really want to feast, there are fried chicken & sesame bao or cheese tots & gua bao meal deals. Rice Error is currently running from Borough, Fitzrovia and Hackney. Plus on a Friday and Saturday in Hackney you can opt to add on a ‘Cocktail Rescue’ which is a selection of BAO’s most loved cocktails including our favourite the BAO-HI, a playful interpretation of a whisky Highball made with salted citrus cordial.
