loti eats: foley’s

Foley’s opened back in the summer of 2016 and won some pretty decent reviews from the critics and a Bib Gourmand from Michelin followed soon after. It was one of those places that passed us by the first time around so when we heard about their new menu which just launched we thought it was high time we got down there.

Located in Fitzrovia, Foley’s is split over two floors, with a few tables on the ground floor, but we recommend grabbing a seat at the kitchen counter in the basement where the action is. The menu, from head chef Mitz Vora (previously of Palomar) has a global influence, taking in a lot of Asian flavours particularly.

Grab a couple of the snacks while you’re checking out the menu – we loved the salmon tartare tacos and the Kerala parotta, a freshly baked flat bread with three dips: fennel butter, coconut and corriander, and garlic raita.

Moving on we choose a few plates to share including more tacos, this time Lamb Doner and the Goan crab, plus a crunchy salad of Asian vegetables and sticky tamarind BBQ pork with toasted cashews. We finished it all off with the Fatboy Elvis dessert – warm chocolate chip banana cake, banana cream, peanut butter nougat, bacon and strawberry jam.
