LOTI EATS | THE CLIFTON

Located on a quiet residential street just off Abbey Road, The Clifton has only been open a few weeks but already feels like a classic neighbourhood pub in the making. The site has been closed and empty for the last three years but has been given a complete refurb by brothers Ed and Ben Robson, who previously ran Boopshi’s in Fitzrovia.

The Clifton is now looking very smart indeed, with some nice art deco touches and nods to House of Hackney in the design. Aside from being a great place to sink a few pints (including The Clifton’s very own beer made especially for them), there’s a cracking food menu too.

We swung by for a lazy Sunday Roast and sat in the bright conservatory where we tucked into thick slices of medium-rare beef, chicken fat roast potatoes, Yorkshire puds, carrots, broccoli, and heaps of gravy. Best to skip breakfast so you can check out the starters too – we had baby octopus with cannellini beans and ndjua and a beautiful salad of heritage tomatoes, grilled peach and burrata.

The place was packed full of locals already lapping up the atmosphere and vibes so if you’re in the area and haven’t been yet, what are you waiting for? These guys also knock up one of the best Sunday roasts in London.
