With it’s location in the heart of busy Oxford Street you could be forgiven for thinking the spa in the bottom of the huge Lush store will be anything but relaxing. But you’d be wrong, the little country house style spa feels like it’s a million miles away from the carnage outside and with the launch of the new treatment Karma the spa is the perfect place to slow down for a while. The treatment is completed by two therapists, whom talk so softly we were completely at ease, even before we laid on the bed.
The 66 minute treatment, inspired the Ayurvedic way of life, aims to top up your prana energy flow and restore your karma. With two therapists in attendance, the treatment itself felt a lot longer than 66 minutes. It includes a hot stone stomach massage, warm oils to stimulate blood flow and ends with coconut water slowly poured over your forehead which calms and slows down the mind. The music is also a big part of the Karma experience, a bespoke Indian soundtrack changes with each section of the treatment and helps you drift away into complete relaxation. At £225 it’s not cheap but with so many parts to the treatment and four hands it really does feel worth it – and come on, who doesn’t need their karma restoring – right?
