Husband and wife team, Tim and Kit Kemp are better known as the duo behind Firmdale hotels – the guys who own 8 hotels in London including Ham Yard Hotel, Charlotte Street Hotel, Dorset Square Hotel and Haymarket Hotel are adding another one to the family in NYC. Sister to the Crosby Street Hotel in Soho, The Whitby will open in Upper Midtown Manhattan and become their second opening across the pond. The hotel will be made up of 86 individually designed rooms and suites, all with floor to ceiling windows and marble or granite bathrooms. There will also be a 30ft pewter bar, orangery, drawing room and 130 seater cinema. Yes, this ones gonna pretty swish and perfect spot for a long weekend in NYC.
