LOTI EATS: TAPAS BRINDISA SHOREDITCH

brindisa-loti

The Shoreditch outpost of Brindisa Kitchens has had a little winter makeover, going from Tramontana to Tapas Brindisa. The new look includes a sweeping bar in front of the open kitchen and a mix of small and communal tables. Grab seats up at the counter if you can – that’s where the real action is and you’ll get the lowdown on the produce from the chefs.

Like the decor, the menu also has a new look; now it’s all about eastern and southern coastal Spanish food. Your tapas classics like jamon iberico, patatas bravas and croquetas are all there, and are all done beautifully, but don’t miss the sweet and salty Monte Enebro goat’s cheese or our absolute fave, the berenjenas con meil aka fried aubergines, pine nuts and chestnut honey…SO GOOD. We genuinely could’t fault any of the plates we tried, so if you can’t decide defo ask for recommendations; the staff are super friendly and super knowledgable about the menu. We were directed to the tarta del dia for dessert, which on this occasion was a custard and almond pastry combo and a great way to round off the meal.

With regional vinos and crafts beers joining all that great grub, Tapas Brindisa is all about celebrating Spain, and it’s pretty easy to pretend you’re in Catalonia and not on Curtain Road.
