RADIO ALICE PIZZERIA TO OPEN

Radio Alice is coming to Hoxton Square in December, and don’t worry it’s not coming to stamp all over Hoxton Radio, but to serve up some mighty fine pizza. Named after a pirate radio station that broadcasted in the 1970s from a two room attic in the centre on Bologna, the pizzeria is the brain child of brothers Salvatore and Matteo Aloe who six years ago set up Berbere in Italy and five restaurants and thousands of raised eyebrows later, they’ve decided to bring their pizza to London.

Doing things a little bit differently the brothers use mother yeast and ancient stone ground flour to make their bases crispy on the outside and soft inside. Making the most of the flavours they also cook the base first, then cut into eight and add the toppings – and that means no fighting for the best slice! And with the menu including gorgonzola, speck, honey, fiordilatte & walnuts and prosciutto di Parma, burrata, orange infused oil and fiordilatte, they really have pushed the boat out. But it doesn’t stop there with a short menu of piccoli, and house made dolci too – think chocolate gelato with a liquorice brioche; cucumber, lemon and mint sorbet with a dash of gin, and to wash it all down there will a selection of Italian organic wines and beer. Now who doesn’t want a pizz’a that?!
